Hi,
Im in the porcess of getting a few bits lasercut for my 998 turbo build and im wondering if anyone would know where i could get the dimensions of the 3 manifold flanges needed to make up my exhaust manifold to bolt to the cyclinder head (would 10mm stainless be ok) , ive been searching but cant seem to find them but for some strange reason i think ive seen them on here somewhere.
I've got the turbo ones of the garrett website but just need the manifold ones.
Also would i need anything else cut to make up the exhaust system, what kind of flanges could i use to mate my custom exhaust downpipe with a playmini or something. And would i need a flexible section on the downpipe,
Cheers JP.

ya i think he has the manifold ones but he doesnt have the turbo ones i need, going with a gt1544 so i might as well get the manifold ones cut too as it probally wouldnt be worth getting them shipped to ireland. On their own

Could you let me know what sort of prices you get for the turbo flanges as I asked a local company and they wanted lots if money - in 10mm stainless.

I'm using a gt1549 I think it has the same triangular input flange, but the output maybe different.

For the downpipe I was either going to modify one from a car with the same turbo or make one out of some bends etc, either way I think I will put a flexible section in.

I have solidworks drawings of the input and output flanges for the turbo, they might need tweaking a bit as I measured directly off the turbo.

The holes in my flanges may be a little large for std heads, I took the measurments from my swifttune head which has had a lot of work

Got them cheers, but how do i open the file. i tried solidworks edrawing viewer but cant seem to get the dimentions,
And as for the size of the ports, would how much do you recon would i want to make them smaller, 2-3 mm all round?

minivan63 - Ill let you know the costs, havent a clue at the moment but hopefully it wont cost an arm and a leg.
Do you mean the gt1548, or it it a gt17.
You might be right about the flexible piece, probally a better job.

Another thing what size pipe would ye recommend to make up the manifold.

It's a gt1549 as used on some turbo diesels, not sure how it will work out on the 998 yet.

Paul S has a good thread on his manifold fabrication: http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=149485
