I'm sure the metro one is longer - Probably easier to find?

It was me. I use an Allegro selector.

I never moved the handbrake, just bent it to the right a bit.

The biggest problem with this conversion is it makes the exhaust a very tight fit, you need to modify the rubber mounts as the tunel is no longer flat and it requires subtle bends to the rods to avoid the underside of the car.

A Metro one might be easier, it's just that I had an Allegro one in the garage.

I moved my handbrake back, still need to sort the cable out, it's a real bodge at the moment, do you know where I can get a cable made?

Jim, forget the cable, far to much hastle. When I moved my handbrake the cable was replaced with a piece of stainless rod cut to the required length and threaded bothe ends to accept the original cable connections which were drilled and tapped the same size as the rod.
