Again, leading up to the rolling road and operating with a much higher boost, and with summer approaching I'm looking at inlet charge temp gauges.

There seems to be a kit on eBay that looks ok, it's £30 with loom and sensor. It has a 1sec refresh rate.

What's everyone else running?!

we had two screens from an old computer case with the sensors dangling in the boost hose. You can get them of ebay for a few quid

I have ordered one from the above site with a threaded sensor - it will make installation a lot simpler.

Good shout - thanks!

Bringing this back up, I got 2 of these and there dreadfull, take ages, can put one in the fridge and it will take 10secs to drop to the correct temp, they were only cheap, are the ones in the link ant better?

10 secs sounds good to me. The probe will have taken that long to cool. Most temp sensors are slow to react as temperature usually changes quite slowly.

If you want something to react fast you will need to pay proper money.

When measuring the charge air you are interested in the steady state temp really. It will not change that much once on boost, not fast anyway.

If you want to log then something faster might be better, but for what most are using them for they are fine. If you want something really fast you are looking at an IR sensor, anything with a probe will be slow as it physically has to change temperature so there is always lag.
