Steering column inner shaft, need to make a tool to mount a steering boss in a lathe so as long as the upper spline and thread is good it will work cheaper the better

Hi, I have one where the bottom spline is mashed, but the top should be fine? It held my wheel on fine anyway.

It's off a '77 1000 if it makes any difference
