In my SC build guide book, the third photo in Chapter 5 "Cylinder Head Modifications" has an arrow pointing to the hole in the cam gear end of the head, below the intake cam. There is a label by the arrow which says "Remove peg from hole." I was hoping for something a bit more helpful. Is the peg pressed in or screwed in, do you remove it by pulling or twisting? I have tried some forceful pulling and that didn't work, and it doesn't want to turn. Somebody tell me how to do this before I break something. |

OK, I will try once more to persuade it to exit the head. If it refuses, I will fire up the Deathwheel 2000 and have at it. |

I just cut it off, but I suppose if you use gentle heat on the head in that area with a blow torch, not too much, just enough so that when you spit on it, it sizzles, then try and pull the pin out Edited by Sprocket on 22nd Mar, 2012. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

Got it out. Held the pin in the big bench vise, heated the boss around the pin, then after about 3 minutes of heating I gave the head a twist while prying outward from the vise. It helps to put a big steel washer over the pin boss, this gives you something to lever against with the pry bar.
