There lots of places that are doing it on the "Buy the bottle" basis, even BOC now I belive.

With the tig I get about 6 hours out these bottles I've used 3 this year at 56.00 quid each time. I don't think these 3 would not be equivalent to 1 of the big bottles. Craig

appreciated; my issue is that we do very little welding at the moment - its generally welding the odd bracket or something similar - nothing too major. Even on the basis I would be getting re-fills more regularly, I' still be cheeper until I start another big resto. I've used the gas so little in the last few years i even considered using the diposable bottles!

For the general purpose mig welding, CO2 goes a long way, since it is a liquid in the cylinder, you get more of it. That's the problem with the Agron mixes, they are simply a compressed gas, and don't last anywhere near as long. So for some one not using the mig that often, CO2 disposables work just fine, and the rental cylinders seem to go on for ever. The argon mix disposables are an utter waste of money and the rental cylinders become a more attractive proposition. Having said that, I don't weld so much stainless or aluminium to ever justify the rental cylinders.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:
