im guessing by the v thats what your vtn was?
ive come to the conclusion the wastegate port in the GT20 is just too small, i thought it might be my settup but after a pm or 2 Nicks way last night i think it might be the turbo, without running a restricter ring in the down pipe there would be no other way to stop this happening,
i have 2 things to try, more boost all the time and to completely disconnect the wg from the actuator see what happens neither are a fix though

Now, I've always been prepared for the fact that I may need to fit an external wastegate on the Miglia. Because....

Although at the time we were unaware of Jim's turbo, but a later picture shows that the turbine housing was identical to the GT2056.

ahh now that sounds like it, wish i knew that sooner, i have actually got a big external wastegate for it too but ended up not building the sidemounted manifold yet,

and for those interested ive managed to figure out how to use my mini camera *happy* and there is a vid on the way *tongue*

Ive got one being rebuilt for the 7 Port project. But it will not running for a while. considering maybe a external wastegate with screemer pipe.

i only had overboost issues when using an old actuator. I now run the std GT2056 one and although 15psi is my minimum boost with it it cured the overboost issues.

well i tryed everything, even unconnected the actuator and still hit the boost cut at 21psi
its been on the list of jobs to do since this thread but today i have pulled the turbo and ported out the wastegate port, now some where i mistakenly said the wg valve flapper was only 20mm when it is actually 23.79mm (ish *wink* )
in my spare housing the flapper is central on the port but in the housing on my turbo it was not so i couldnt go as big as i planned but i think an oval 20.5 x 21.5mm should do the trick *happy*
by my calcs thats 53% bigger *happy*
from this
to this
i have no idea how to work out how much that will help by but i have been told the gt17 has a 24mm wg port and can hold as little as 7psi (maybe less) so hopefully mine can hold 7psi untill 7krpm or at least control the 18-20 psi i would like it to hold in anger

If you are referring to the GT 17 Robert then mine holds 5/6psi on the low boost setting too.

With the bleed valve solenoid open I have not (yet!) gone beyond 19psi, which it achieves at about 4000rpm.

i replyed on the other thread too, yes completely solved
ran as little as 4psi but swapped to a 18psi actuator, regularly runs over 20psi and 28 with water and alcohol
