Has anyone built their own silencers? I have not got much room under the car and without a silencer I wont be able to do track days.

Sounds like im using exactly the same style bike can as Carl. Looks like it'll fit nicely where the battery box used to be.

Me and will are now using bike cans too. Cheap of eBay and normally repackable. They can normally be easily modified for length too.

What car is it ? Shouldnt be too hard to silence most turbo cars fairly well.

There's a place on egay selling a huge range of stainless silencers.

I bought one for my van a few weeks ago. And despite the picture looking a bit dodgy, I was very impressed with quality and finish which was fortunately not like the item pictured. ( although in my case didnt matter as it wasnt going to be visible anyway )
And it was very cheap too.

car is a metro turbo. not got much room in the exhaust tunnel and the exhaust is coming out of the sill now!

just have enough room for one like this:

still looking around at bike silencers

I was thinking of making two small silencers myself with perforated tube, exhaust packing, some bigger tube with something like this both ends http://exhaustpartsuk.com/index.php?main_p...fb849bb75adfabd

Be easier just to stick the exhaust out the back like normal and fit a sensible sized silencer lol.
