Hi, fitting a 2 pc fibreglass front end from ABS with the built in A panels, is there a general way of lining it all up (height wise) so that the nose points at the right angle?! The sides are oversized so made to be trimmed to the doors, hence why I need to know how to line it up before trimming to fit.

Looks like it's going to be impossible to fit around the scuttle anyway.....

Thanks,
TC

They are a bit of a bugger to fit, im in progress of fitting my one, i've got a clubman one that has A panels but i want to cut them off, as my A panels are new.

There is no easy way to fit a FG front. It is just mount it rough stand back and have a look, repeat this until you are happy with it. At least that is how I have always done it.

I found a clubby yesterday that someone let me take some measurements from, I measured from the floor up to the grille cut out, and also from the inside top edge down the the subframe, so I can get the nose height right with any luck, then it will just be trim/grind, repeat etc etc.

Can't see how it's gonna fit well around the scuttle ends though from the quick look the other day as the gaps are huge when the A panels are laid over the door hinge panels, I assume they shouldn't need to be trimmed back?

What were the measurements? I need to know where the teardrop mounts would have fitted, I'm fitting it on pins but would like a rough guide!

Surely you line up the tie bar mountings through the front panel? Measuring from the floor to the grill cutout will give you that one cars height - but rubber cones wear, people fit hi-lo's and BL weren't exactly known for their fantastic panel fitment.

I would never go on another cars measurements...

I also measured the height of the sills at the front and rear of the car :)

I'll let you know the measurements later on when I get them back from the workshop, the problem is the the FG front is there is no detail to go off inside the front panel which is what makes it hard to fit imo
