Not sure if the link will work as the listing has ended

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=320877635652

I bid on it as it's less than 10 miles from me but stopped at £180.

I only want a spare A+ block and, if the engine number is correct, it should have a 3.1 diff which I could have sold on.

But £260 for a standard metro engine ???

Has the world gone mad ???

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Yeah, see this doesnt seem strange to me becasue Im new to the scene I thought £300 for a metro 1275 engine was normal? My dad kicked off say8ing I overpaid massivley when I brought the turbo engine home for £360 last year *tongue*

not always. I remember when a 988 was £40 and a 1275 was £60 from the scrapers...

I got into mini`s about 5 years ago now. a full brake setup including driveshafts on the front was 20 quid. Now 100 quid.

998 engines were 50, now sellers have the cheek to try and charge 100 for unknown units. Behave!

There is still cheap stuff about if you look hard enough. I bought a complete 1275 metro for 50 quid with 47k on it only 2 years ago.

we used to throw away standard units in the past as the MG units were so plentiful. I recall the skip we filled with engines and boxed about 12 years ago when we moved out one of our units- probably £10k worth now!

yeah been there seen that i remember 998cc engines you couldn't give away even if you were gona drop it off lol 10 years ago i paid £75 for a complete metro turbo that was so rotten but good engine. now i have seen the engines selling for £600 and standard 1275's with about 74k miles on them selling for £300 that is mad.
I wish i hadn't given/thrown some of the stuff away in the past even basic stuff seems to be worth something now
