Yeah turned over fine before but has been sitting for months. What could be wrong with it to stop the engine turning over? |

It originally had a new clutch plate but the rest was unknown and it slipped when changing from 3rd to 4th at high revs. So after it had been run in I decided to change it for something more up to the job. |

sounds like the bolts that hold the slave cyl are contacting the ring gear On 28th Aug, 2011 Kean said:

I don't have any pre verto clutch stuff , but I will check the bolt length anyway.

It sounds like a clutch problem and you say it turns over in 4th when the clutch is depressed.

Did it run at all after the clutch change, roadtest or anything.? Doesn't sound clutch as disengages and at worst would be just stuck on and still rock in gear. Poss flywheel jammed as said above.? Bar on the crank pulley to try and see just how tight. For every action there is an equal and opposite criticism. |

Matty: I haven't tried turning it over with the clutch depressed. In 4th the car rolls when the clutch is depressed. Same setup just new parts. But any things possible lol

This is my best guess too. If you've only changed the clutch this is the most likely thing it can be.

Al - it can't be those bolts as he can turn the flywheel with the clutch pressed. If there was something wedging the outside of the flywheel, it wouldn't turn over at all.
