Vernier calipers won't be ideal for measuring the ring slots. Have you got some feeler gauges, you could use these.

Going to get a dish machined in the pistons. Whats the minimum amount there needs to be in the top of the piston?

Could anyone put some ideas forward for an engine colour?

Thinking could tie the colour up with same colour harnesses or something.

Black or Green

After having lost motivation, im now back on the straight and narrow and want to have it on the road for summer. So should be making a few orders over the next few days and be cracking on with it.

Just wanted some advice, would a standard 998 oil pump suffice or would it be best to use a 1275 pump?

If so standard 1275 or turbo one? as don't want it to be overkill.

Gone with a gunmetal grey colour, I'll find a pic of the head and upload it.

Like the colour of your engine, I'm doing a slightly darker grey than that, almost like an anthracite grey. Keep up the good work, mate.

Life is always a matter of opinion and quite frankly, no ones opinion really matters.

Thanks Rob.

Got my sabelt harnesses today. I got a set off of eBay basically brand new for a steal of a price. Wanted 4 points but these ones are 6. I thought I could just leave the extra 2 unclipped, but there actually a part of the buckle!

They're basically these ones http://www.jkcomposites.com/GT-page.html

Came with the mini when I bought it. May get some padding if they turn out to not be too comfortable. Super light though.
