Does anyone have any pics of how they have fitted the anchors for the bollock straps for 6 point harnesses?

I'm just not keen to weld top hat captive nuts through the floor pan to secure the eye bolts, as it seems far from ideal having at least 15mm sticking out the underside of the floor pan. I'm trying to think of different ways of doing it but wondering what other people have done?

Cheers,
TC

How far from the floor is the seat??

Can you not make a raised plate so the bolt doesnt goe through the floor.

I dont think 15mm sticking through the floor is that bad of thing tho.

Warwick.

you could weld the captives in the inner sill and tunnel as and where you need it for the lap belt
and do what alot of folk do for the crutch strap and wrao the harness around the rearward seat rail

Sorry just seen the replies.

Yeah it's just for the crotch straps, 15mm through the floor wouldn't be that bad just not ideal, I did think about boxing the spreader plates slightly so it's more above the floorpan than underneath, at the end of the day there'd still be the same amount of weld around the box to the floor as there would be around a flat plate!

Or- weld a thicker captive nut above the spreader plate instead of through it and underneath.

OR..... Make it like an angle bracket face down (toblerone on the floor) with the eye bolt screwed in to one of the flats so at a 45° angle, if that makes any sense.

edit: MSA rules basically say that wrapped around either of the seat tubes will be too far forward or backwards.

is that due to your seat posissioning? because i know masses of cars which use the wrap around method, M-sport R2 kits are wrap around type and thats generic fit the seat where you need kinda kit

No there is a tube running across under the front and another running under the rear of the seat, then the seat sits on ally side mounts, and the bollock strap hole is not far off slap bang in the middle.

Blue book says it needs to be directly down from the hole in the seat +/- a few degrees. I have seen a couple of cars today which were wrapped or bolted to one of the tubes but it's not technically compliant.

Just thought I'd do it to the book rather than get upset one day when a grumpy scrutineer doesn't let me race.

Quick update, after not being satisfied with anything I could find, and testing a mount through my mini floor which stuck out further than anything else on the car, I have made up a set of these which I am going to use.

Think they will look quite smart, comply with everything I can find in the blue book so should be MSA compliant so I may make up some more to sell when I have these mounted in my car and a couple of pics! 3mm mild steel and the nuts are deep UNF self locking ones which seem perfect :)
