I am presuming that they want to know what parts to replace and what to get to create 200bhp

Basically, throw everything away except for the crank, rods, block, head, gearbox casings and other daft parts that every turbocharged engine needs, then spend thousands.

You need at least 4 k for the engine and have another 1k for the rest to sort!

I think that's optimistic Steve

I would say price up all the components you think you need for your engine then treble it, look at the time you think you need to spend on the project then treble it

I think that's closer to the mark however 200bhp may still not be achievable you may get 199 or even 201 *wink*

It's amazing how it adds up, £100 here £100 there next thing you know you've got 3-4k of engine parts... Plus money for an intercooler and pipework, mappable ignition, extra engine steadies, some decent suspension and rubber, the list goes on.

We never actually proved 200bhp on the dyno with the van. But I am positive we were up there and probably beyond.

At 17psi it made 172bhp with mega-rich fuelling. After that we ran 25psi+ with the fuelling getting around 12:1 afr

Certainly didn't cost £4k+

We did however have to do an awful lot of shopping around and call in favours! lol

I managed approx 180 bhp with 14 psi and I've spent no more than 4k on my engine and not a lot of problems.

i think i've managed to do mine on a fairly conservative budget, there has been a lot of luck and its been an on going project though considering my original 'only want 120hp' aims about 8 years ago..
