Hi guys,

Off to the rolling road tomorrow and just found my rocker cover filler cap is spraying oil out the little hole on the top! What could be cousing it?
I've got a breather pipe off the rocker cover running to a catch tank

Help!?

what size is the breather? I recall a few of the others had issues with crank case pressure and resolved it with a larger diameter breather

Only 1/2"

Could I plug the breather off and just run with the rocker cover unbreathed so to speak?
The breather pipe tees in to e pipe from the timing chain cover

Only just put this rocker cover on. Didn't do it with the old cover with no breather

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

The A Series engine likes lots of breathers, the standard one on the timing cover and the clutch cover going to a catch tank is fine!

But........ an extra one coming. From the rocker cover is a must on a high performance engine especially. A Turbo engine,

I would be worried that the rings have shat themselves.. if its breathing heavy! ...if! Its been booted, not. Been set up correctley? An or. .. Done starship miles.. for the last nearly 30 years. ?

A compression test. Would. Verify. This before you waste your money on a rolling road set up.

Its up to you? Add. A extra breather and. Suck it and see??????

Keep. Us posted

Found the problem. The breather tank is not made very well, the inlet pipes have a 6mm hole at the end f the tubes, the feeds from the clutch and timing covers were pressuring the system and blowing it out the rocker cover. I removed the pipe to the rocker and the problem went away.

Yep, fuelling from the carbs is way out, we tried all the bits we could but we need a dynojet kit so we can start adjusting. Disappointingly only made 80bhp because it's running very lean at the top end. So lean I'm taking the carbs off and putting the su back on until the fuelling can be sorted out. Need the car for a holiday in 2 weeks and I cant get back on the rollers for weeks. Back to the good old SU. Got to graft a TPS on to it so it will work with the MJ
