I used 32mm OD mandrel bends, with a 1.5mm wall thickness. Remember if your going to use SS back purging of the welds is necessary to prevent oxidation of the weld on the iside of the tube.

My thinking about this has changed recently. I used 28mm bore on all my manifolds, nominal 1" stainless steel stuff.

An LCB style manifold with a remote turbo using 28mm bore stuff is good for around an extra 5% bhp. Have you proven this now Paul with the Mig or is the 5% from your simulations? I know Mike did really well on 10psi with his sidemount. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

I don't doubt that 5% or so is realistic.

Yes, 5% is conservative.

Stainless is steel and easier to weld, and yes you can weld it to mild if you want to. |

It doesn't have to be a particularly tight bend. The ones I used are a larger radius than that. It isn't a question that can be answered by anyone but you really. It depends on the design you have in mind. |

I wanted to make a manifold that would hold a t2 and not require me to cut the bulkhead (like a mirage basically) On 10th Mar, 2012 theoneeyedlizard said:
