I'm using one in my road mini. On a custom manifold it fits with no baulkhead mods.
I can't compare it to anything because its my first turbo car, but its boosts from very low and I'm running close to 15psi and it seams happy.

cheers brett. not sure if its oil cooled only or both oil and water. is it wise to have oil cooled only turbo on a mini?

oil cooled is easier to fit but people fit water cooled in minis no problem

I bet the 49 is the same as the 48 but with a different flange or some other special.

OR, it has the same compressor as the 48, but a smaller/larger turbine.

Either way, an inspection to se what the A/Rs are and a measure of the impellers will give you an idea.

If it's cheap enough, in good nick and has a useable flange, then I'd buy it. Worst case is you buy it, measure it, find it's too big/too small and have to sell it on.

if you can get numbers i use a turbo parts site to run what turbines they have in. I did this the other day on the t2 i bought to find they all had the same exhaust side just different inlet size.
