Hi all
I'm just rebuilding my carb, I've put the throttle shaft and butterfly in seals etc but between the plastic washer And the thread I have a 3-4 mm gap.
I take it this is not right as under pressure will just push the seals out. Would it be ok to shim this gap.
Cheers
Joe

When I serviced my carb was the same as yours, If you bought a service kit you get two sets of seals, I fitted both sets, The throttle linkage will only tighten up to the end of the flats on the shaft, If you fit the other seals they fill the space your on about..

Hope this makes some sense.. Alan

Were the seals two pairs, as in one set was different from the other, and you fitted one of each to each end of the spindle?

That's right, but just spoke to my son who has just bought a kit for his, and he tells me there were only one set in his, maybe that's all they put in them now, one pair that fit all..

I just had alook. I got my kit from minispares and the kit does have extra seals but they are for the hif44 e carb.Which is a smaller seal.
