Good question. I'd fit them but if they're really needed or not if you constantly keep them greased up....?? On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

they are such a pain when fitting the tops arms back in lol. and im not sure if can buy them on there own. the grease wont come out. as its still tight against the metal just will be needed to kept clean On 27th Apr, 2010 Rick.SPI said:

You can buy those rubber seals, I've just bought some for the radius arms, there the same seals as the front upper arms, Mini spares is where you will get them 74 pence each.. Main Build

You probably don't need to use them, It's a personal choice, either keep dirt and grit away or take a chance of getting dirt and grit into the bearings etc...I guess as long as they are kept greased up you will be a bit safer. ““A turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.”” - Jeremy Clarkson

There easy to put on if you pull the rubber seal right on to the casting, the one at the shaft entry end, and when the shaft is in you just slide the rubber seal back into place, job done..
