Is it posssible to make a cable by splicing a rj11 to a usb?

If not wats the simplest way to do it without spending £50 on bits and without loads of diffrent connectors?

If not just call me a nob *tongue*

buy an old laptop then, personally going from rj11 to usb your gonna struggle as there are no drivers for it; that im aware and im sure it would be more readily avaliable if it was easy enough.

so buy a laptop i guess so you rj11>serial or just have to live with the driver problem.

I'd just use a laptop with a real serial port *smiley*

They are cheap enough to get hold of.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

You cant just wire a serial signal into a USB port. It's not just a different shape port and getting wires the right shape to plug together that is the issue, it's a different signal. You need to either use a serial port, or buy a USB to serial converter which translates the signal to something a USB port and your serial device will understand. The RJ45 lan adapter also won't work as ethernet and serial are not the same signal either.
