We had a Corsa B as a sort of spare car anyone in the family could use when we needed a car to leave in a dodgy area or in a pub car park for a week etc. Never serviced or washed, always abused and to be fair it never went wrong. However, it is quite genuinely the worst car I have ever driven. It had the 1.4 'Hi-torq' engine, I prefer to think of it as the 'low-power'. I found myself thrashing it just to keep moving and I managed to get 14mpg from a tank once. The handling was pure comedy, it would bounce and slide it's way round corners, I once lost the back end going round a roundabout at the same speed as a LWB Sprinter which seemed to be having no problem at all. I really can't understand why such a terrible car is so popular with a certain social subset, but there we go, each to their own. Once they are all crashed or scrapped I won't care because I will remember how terrible they were, so on that basis I am quite pleased that it is Corsa Bs getting this sort of treatment as if it was S1-4 Lotus Elans for example, I would be truly upset.
