Need some help, I discovered an oil leek today and have found that the Turbo oil drain is broken badly, its the alloy part that connects directly to the turbo, is seams tha flange that the silicone pipe goes on has detached from the alloy housing, looking closely it looks like its a pressure fitting, I can only think that the heat from the turbo has caused the casing to expand and therefore the sleve has come out ! , I have never heard of this happening before !.

Can anyone advise where I can get a new replacement ASAP as was planing on going Riv Run next week *frown*.

Cheers

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

500 deg F, aluminium / steel, chemical resistant... worth a try if you cant find a replacement part in time.

I would try epoxy clue.
It sounds silly, but it has worked quite a few times for me.

I have one somewhere. But mine has been chemical metalled up on the flange, as it had cracked. It was fine for 3 years like that.

To repair you could:

1. Get it welded
2. You could tap a thread in the body and screw a threaded tube in
3. Get some ally tube the and press fit it back into the housing and loctite
4. JB weld it up

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Thanks for the advise, it is tight and won't go back in, I think heat and pressure will put it back but I'm not sure I can trust it to hold. I am going to try a local engineering workshop tomorrow, I want to see if they can make an alloy tube and weld it together I can then be assured it won't fail .

Cheers
