Well I have been asked ALOT about these but.....whilst I am interested in doing all things to make Minis go quicker I am haveing trouble with the fit of "standard" bumpers. If I can't get decent bumpers (tried Hertiage, didn't fit that well) then I can't do a decent mould from them.

So anyone got some very good bumpers and if so where did you get them from?

I have had a look at Curleys & didn't like the way they are fitted to the car either. Any (better) ideas on this as well?

Standard bumpers don't EVER fit well in my experience!!

Tried all sorts when I used to work at a Mini centre, from genuine rover to cheap pattern, they all fit sh1ttily I am afraid!

Thats the problem *happy* It dosn't help all Minis are a different shape as well *happy*

But will have a try of the MiniSpares Stainless Bumpers and then chop off abit of the ends to see if that will make it better.

What about aluminium alloy bumpers? This way I could use them in historics :) Prefereably in the shape from the Clubman!

I've just weighted my bimpers. The original pattern ones were 1668 grammes, and the Curley ones were 304... That's quite a weight saving :)

Edit: this is a very old post I notice, still it's worth pointing out what I said below.

The only thing that got lighter when I bought some parts from Smudger was my wallet.

Nice to know you got it sorted out in the end Wil, a pity it took the lengths it did for the supplier to refund you.

Also loving the use of "BAC" on minifinity!

I cant belive how much that guy is a cnut in so many many ways. What a complete and utter bellend.

Glad you did the business on him, i wish a lot more people would stand up to the utter shite he dishes out.

That might be harsh, but after seeing his work first hand, i think its more than fair.

I'd take it up with the guy who organised the raffle first. I'd ask for the equivelent money that the prize cost, then you could buy a propper one somewhere else.

I think not receiving a prize is grounds to go to cought. It's so easy see here http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/infoabo...laims/index.htm and here https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp. Cost £30.

If he'd returned my phone calls I would have spent a fair amount with the guy...

As he is useless I am not going to risk my money on anything he sells!!

i cant speak for anyone else, but ive honestly had nothing but good service from Smudger, sometimes the odd delay, but nothing extreme.

It would be great if he would sort out these supply problems as his products, in my experience, are of very high quality.

I don't buy off anyone on ebay who has less than 95% positive feedback... Sounds like Smudger is up around 10% positive from what I've heard.

I'll never, EVER put business his way out of principle.
