Yeah, that's the one. Don't go to the one in oldbury, its completely pants, the karts aren't looked after, the staff are idiots and have no interest in their job, and the track is poorly maintained and drives terrible as they have to run it backwards to stop the karts from breaking...

Overall a lighter guy is going to piss over a heavier guy, if driving ability is exactly the same.

To be perfectly honest, driver weight doesn't make much difference on certain tracks, there are places where the weight has a good advantage over the lighter guy. Audi s4 b5 - 470bhp & 486ft lbs

Not neccessarily. Theres a chap at full throttle who's nickname is 'chubs' And hes very very quick. The difference between me and Jay is about 3 stone and 2 tenths of a second. You can be a second a lap slower and as long as you hold the line theres very little oppurtunity for people to overtake unless you balls up. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

So what advantages do heavy drivers have over lightweight drivers?

In karting you get far more grip round the slippier corners, so you can take them faster. But then the lighter drivers get up to speed faster, so it all evens out on the right track layout. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

i used to do alot of carting when i was younger, always being rather large i never found it a problem, infact it helps on corners imo, leaning into corners alot helped me beat much lighter people, they have better acceleration i seemed to be able to corner much quicker Yes i moved to the darkside |

i suppose the weight helps you grip in corners, but imo the difference wont be enough to make that much difference over a lap, compared to being out accelerated and out braked, maybe thats just my excuse Audi s4 b5 - 470bhp & 486ft lbs

I love a go at karting every now and again, the last time the mrs had a go she broke her wrist, the person in front stamped on the brakes, she ran in the back and her wrist broke from holding the steering wheel on impact.
one day boost will be mine!

When we went for a work do, all the fatties did well, while the lighter guys really struggled in the bends |
