I'm going to be using a twin tank set up which will use 2 5.5 gallon tanks. I'm going to need some way to plumb in the fuel return and I'd rather avoid having to weld either tank. I am thinking of mounting a high pressure pump on the rear subframe and soldering a 'T' into the balance pipe between the 2 tanks for the return. Would this work? I think my main concern is the diameter of the balance pipe is quite small and even if I increase that the outlet from the tanks is still the same size. |

My concern would be that you will be pushing the return into a head of fuel if the tanks are full.

Would a return line to the RH tank vent work if you fitted a vented cap ? Metric is for people who can't do fractions. |

I thought of that, but isn't that essentially what returning it to a T before the pump is doing? Either way, putting a T piece into a the flexible pipe would be even easier so it might be a better option anyway. I was mainly considering soldering an extra pipe on as it would be neater and I have the cut out in the boot floor for the 3 pipes as on an MPI so it would make use of all the holes in the grommet.

The problem with that is that the pipe is tiny, I would have to weld a much bigger one on. Without a pipe inside the tank I would expect to hear the sound of splashing fuel inside the tank which might be annoying, I'm not sure if it would be louder than the straight cut drops though!

are you running with a na or turbo setup? i run a mpi left tank, cooper s right tank, i had an outlet braised onto the bottom of the mpi tank to link the tanks to fit mine with the turbo setup, then ran the return back to the mpi tank as it has that facility on it. cheers, dan |

It's a turbo. That was exactly my plan, I previously just had an MPI tank which was simple. I have fitted Cooper boot board brackets and I have a Cooper S boot board so now the MPI tank doesn't fit and I have to use a 5.5 gallon tank.

im building a turbo with twin tanks im going to be running an mpi left hand tank and a modified left hand tank to fit on the right hand side. ill be putting balance lines in due to not wanting a right hand side filler neck and im going to be returning to the right tank as the left tank will have the pump in. |
