My mate had a 276 in his Turbo a few years back and it was a great little motor, slightly lumpy especially with low compression, but nothing extreme. It pulled strongly from quite low down, though he did have a T2 fitted.

HI , 276 have n/a lca, I would recommend to use the mg mety cam, or best the phase 2 cam from avonbar, but what the cam need is a mid cam inlet (piper270/kent266/vp2 etc), and a fast road cam exhaust (285/286/etc) at 108 lca...this make a very drivable cam and help the exhaust gas to exit, and still have a lot of inertia to spin the turbine wheel

t3tone fitted a 276 to his 1380 and goes bloody well, but lumby on tick over but turbo spins up quickly and comes out at a impressive 168 bhp on 12 psi, so go for it, but dont no what it would be like in a 1293 though. always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

it sounds a bit strange saying this but has anyone mixed 1.3 & 1.5 rockers ie. put the 1.5's on the exhaust and the 1.3's on the inlets?? |

I use the 276 along with 1.5 rockers so would have thought using it in a 1293 with 1.3 rockers would be a very good cam, or maybe 1.5 if not bothered about tick over. But alot of the time what seems to work for one engine wont in another!!!

i dont think it would tone as the pillars would be different and the geomomtry would be out but having said that ive got a set of 1.5 stipped to bits at the moment i might just mix them up and see what happens . but i think for the 1.3 they would be to far away from the valves at a guess. always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

Also I think using the 1.5's on the exhausts and 1.3's on the inlet would give you some increased exhaust valve "area" however it would also increase the overlap of exhaust relative to inlet too much IMO to see any benefit.

I've thought about the 'mixing' before also! Too much work as hoggy says! On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

the phse two with his 0.390 lift on exhaust side is in the ballpark, and work bloody well , why bother with other timing ? any cam can work with a turbo engine untill it haven't too much timing on the inlet, but there is the set up which works, other which works a little more, and the last which are working at their best, a 276 is definitely a non turbo cam , it isn't because the 276 have power potential , that a special turbo cam will not beat it |
