Originally i joined up to get hold of someone, but i seem to be sticking around. Forums a lot better than the TMF i am used to! Although not building a turbo car i am building a minus.



All your turbo builds are pretty tempting! Think i am just going to go for a pro motive or similar at some point.

To be honest i had never really thought of going turbo until looking on here. I've currently got a half decent 1380 from my last car to put in it.

Trouble is i wouldn't want to cut the bulkhead so would be restricted for turbo choice?

welcome, if you didnt want to cut the bulk head you would just have to use custom manifolds or a mirage kit

Well a GT17 will fit without modding the bulkhead, and these have been shown to make over 200 bananas, which is plenty.

Welcome and a gt17 is what im using, saves me cutting the bulk head and more modern then a t2/3

Already have me thinking. I would need a new head to get the CR down as i have powermax 9cc pistons.

Will have a search around the site and see what i find.

Just like to update and thank this forum again. Very useful.

I decide to stick with my 1380 and possibly go turbo in the future with a less bored block maybe an r1 engine but i think the turbo route is better.

Here's a few pictures. Still a long way to go.















Rebuilt the head with new guides, valves and valve retainers. Timed up with vernier duplex rather than just a duplex. New xpin diff and a different CWP. Also a new MED verto lightened clutch kit.

Welcome mate, looking like a good build, I am building my turbo it going to running a mirage manifold, so no bulkeah mods and a hybrid GT15/T2 with 360 degrees thrust bearing

a warm welcome, your car with the right turbo engine will be well fast ....... please dont write a turbo installation off.

if you had a go in one you would be welll convinced........ after your heart stopped racing with the shock.

I've been here nearly a year now guys. Just saying thanks for all the useful info!

I definitely like the turbo idea. Thinking, get it all up and running and then slowly build up a 1293 for a reliable 130-150 bhp.
