GUYS - u really need to be putting celly paint thinners (toluene/xylene) in your fuel.
melted pistons - no more
melted head gaskets - whats that.

I have problems with my goddam carb freezing!!!!
Can get 5-10 miles before - cough splutter....cuts out...wait 5 mins to defrost...then off again.
Even after a thrashing the engine bay is COLD!!!!
i mean like ...luke war at most on the block!!

Instructions:
Put in 100% toluene/xylene
advance timing till it kicks back turning over...
ease off till it fires....sorted. (ok maybe back off a bit more to be 100%)
but your well off the timing marks to get the fueling set up.
(thats with the bob weights welded up in dizzy on a race cam tho)

just to add - ive not solved the carb freezing...YET. ill let u know how the experimenting goes when im back on the road in a few weeks.

prob 2 - the fumes are not nice.

I expect a 50-50 with petrol will solve both the problems tho.

ive melted enough sparkplugs/pistons and this really works.

formula 1 cars used toluene until about 1988-89-90 ish. - the f1 mechanics called it rocket fuel. do a quick google.

I prefer to run a 3:1 mix of C-Stoff/T-Stoff

From Sheffield now live in York tha noz

I favor a mix of 30% gin to 70% tonic (slimline to prevent misfire), and a slice of lemon.

Pro's-

Undetable
No carb icing (although ice addition is essential)
No unpleasant fumes

Con's-

No good if your a just a lager drinker
May cause unsteadyness on feet, talking bollocks for hours and sudden need for a kebab
No lead protection for valve seats

well if your advise is as above, ie adjust the timing without a light I suggest you keep it to yourself.

Interesting concept, but you can achieve much the same with Ethanol, infact E85 is available at the pump at various stations around the UK

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I thought this was no longer available at the pump since the goverment pulled the tax break on it. I know morrisons use to sell it but no longer do.

They pulled it from my "local" Morrisons sometime last year - I didn't realise it was a tax thing, I just though it was unpopular.....

Methanol burns really cold and makes good power but you have to run so much richer, and it corrodes aluminium, which is why methanol dragsters have to flush through with petrol after a run. So not ideal for a road car!

The high methanol fuel in Italy caused some interesting issues with the twin carbs on the GT...

Methonal will certinally let you run lots of boost and super high CRs. But as 200bhp is achievable on pump fuel what's the point?
