yeh i ordered one, brett posted a picture of that graph. At 6k it produces 60amps i think. 40amps is around the 3k mark.

Mine is ready to bolt on now just need a long bolt for it i had to modify it slightly as the case seems different to a few build threads i looked up. First attempt was a mount/adapter bracket cut out of 2x1x7 inch ally it was rather flexible so i bodified the alt to fit the normal mini mounts
bare with me im on the phone pics will take some time..

I've also found this auction for some denso alternators, which look like they might fit the mini mounts a little better as well. It's the same 40amp alternator but with different mounts:

I'm also in the process of buying the proper 2 pin connectors for these, so please let me know if you are interested in getting one too as I've ordered a pack of 5. First come first serve on those.

Edit - Please PM me for interest in the connectors. Cheers.

I like what you've done there Brett. I'll probably be pinching that idea.

For a long bolt, a head stud fits nicely.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

PM's replied to.

Sorry hazpalmer, all of the connectors I've bought have been accounted for now. I will let you know if I get any more in if the demand picks up enough to buy another pack.

Well my alternator has turned up, the one from the auction I linked to in a previous post on this thread, and the connector is completely different to the alternator model listed in the auction! Hurray! *angry*

The one that's turned up has a 3 pin plug with a round socket, which I think is a little more common. Fingers crossed.

So I will have another T type 2 pin connector available. First come first serve once again, send me a PM if interested.

I've got both types of alternator at the moment, so i've taken a photo of them for a comparison to show which type of connector i've bought:

The one on the right is the type I have purchased connectors for. The one on the left was sent to me by accident after an eBay screw up :/

mine is like the one on the right. one of the pins is offset so a standard T connector won't fit

Thanks for pointing that out Brett.

I've gone back to the catalogue I bought the connectors from and there is another similar one with an offset pin on the 'T', so when the pack that I have bought turns up, I shall check if it fits.

If it doesn't fit, I'll buy a pack of these other connectors I've found and try again.
