Missing Valve Seats?

Hi there chaps,

I have just bought a 12g940 Turbo cylinder head from a well known guy in the mini racing scene. Its got the standard size metro turbo valves and enlarged chambers.

I was told it was a good head in good condition, It was missing a couple of valves which didnt bother me as i have a set of standard turbo valves in good condition (covered about 600 miles since new).

He said i needed to remove the old valves and lap in the set that i have so i got home and set about removing the old valves ready for my set to go in, but on closer inspection its clear that there are vavle seats in cylinders 4,3 and 2 but deffinately no seats in cylinder 1. (i have some pictures but can't upload them at the moment)

so I was a little dissapoited to find out that it wasn't just a case of 'lapping in the valves'.

I only paid £100 fo the head so not too bad. Can anyone recomend someone good to insert some valve seats around the Kent area (swift tune?) also how much am i looking at to get set of valve seats inserted?

too far away for you i know but i have just had some seats put into my turbo head roughly 2 months ago at a price of roughly £15 per seat, this was total price of them cutting the head, inserting the seat and cutting the 3 angles back into the seat. Peter Burgess in Derbyshire did this for me, looks good. not ran the motor yet though.

If you want? I can have. A look at your head for you, maybe the seats have fallen out For some reason ?

And the head may be scrap! But I carry some slightley over size seats...... please pm if you want.

Yeah, Ive packed it up today and sent it off to BENROSS.
