Looking to sell my 1400 engine. The crank and the head are listed elsewhere, this is just for the block, pistons and rods.

The block was a pukka Turbo block (not that it really matters) and the pistons were New Old Stock cast Omega 74mm pistons. Rings bought from Total Seal since the pistons and rings had ben out of manufacture for quite some time.

The engine has done around 6k genuine miles, built in 2006 and removed in 2007 for the start of installing the 16 valver during 2008. Gave 100hp with the head listed elsewhere, and a Kent MD274 injection cam, mild for a 1400!

More pictures of the condition of the pistons and bores to follow, the batteries ran flat on the camera, and are on charge. I'll decide on a price when I have seen the condition. Certainly won't be knackered!

Rods and bolts are standard A+. Block nearly standard deck hight (can be seen in the above link) only skimmed a gnats dick to clean off the top, no more. Standard bearing caps and bolts without center strap. Turbo oil pump included same age and mileage. Painted in Factory red, new core plugs installed at build. coolant jacket nice and clean, no furry rust deposits. threaded removable oil gallery plugs. Carbie non performance engine number fitted for emissions reasons

Bore wear measured at 0.0005" with a bore gauge, thats 1/2 of 1 thousandths of an inch, and at the top only. No wear ridge can be felt at the top of the bores, but then I have thick skinned fat fingers, hence the measuement with a proper gauge. Number 1 cylinder shows a vertical score, but the fingernail test does not detect any depth to it. Hone can still be seen on all cylinders. All pistons show the same light scoring on both thrust faces, which is normal with a smooth skirt piston, all skirt measurements measured and sithin 0.0005" of each other, which might just be an inaccuracy of my measurements. Bores measure 73.95mm. All rings in excellent condition and I would simply deglaze the bores and rebuild the engine. Main bearings show no contamination when the engine was running, could likely be re used after cleaning. cam bearings still show the marks where they were scraped in, were new at time of original build. Rod bolts were brand new standard Rover items at time of build.

I see nothing the would be of any worry whatsoever.

I have included lots of pictures showing as best as possible with the camera I have, the true condition of this engine from all angles, and not just a shitty mobile phone picture that is totally out of focus and as much use as a paper fire guard.
