i have booked my car in for a rolling road setup at the start of next week.

is there any way that i can test the boost pressure with the car stationary in the garage?

its a cossie actuator, set at a slightly reduced preload. i was hoping for a baseline of around 6psi but would like to test the baseline boost pressure if possible before getting to the rolling road? is there any way that i can do this with an air line and boost pressure gauge?

otherwise i will take the cossie one off and fit a standard metro one for now, and bleed up to the required boost. am i right in thinking that half a hole preload on a standard actuator would give around 4psi as a baseline?

any help or suggestions apreciated, cheers, dan

As Andy says, I used to "T" in a pressure gauge and foot pump to see the operating pressure.

Thanks for the advice chaps. Im not sure that i have a foot pump. Is there any reason why this couldnt be done with an airline with a gauge inline? Cheers, dan

Also what am i looking for? Is it when the arm starts to move or when it has moved full travel? I presume its when it starts to move? Cheers, dan

i have tested this this afternoon. the wastgate starts to open at 6psi aprox. does this mean that the baseline boost on the car will be 6pi? it has a stiffer spring than the standard metro item, the wastgate fully opens at aprox 15psi. my thought is that when the wastegate starts to open then that will be it? can anyone please clarify this for me? i have the rolling road setup very soon and the operator wants the base actuator psi set to 6 as a safe bet for my engine. cheers, dan
