Hi all, after numerus searches i still cant decide what i want cutch wise RTS is very interesting but thinking of trying an off the shelf kit first as my engines not massively modified.

what are your opinions on this kit...

also what would you recon on drop gear (primary) ratios? i will be running the standard metro turbo gearbox
SC optioins on minispares http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=...id=36632&title=

stripped my engine last night, really enjoyed stripping her down everything so far looks great, small score on bore hoping it will hone out as its not a lip or anything, run out of time before i was called in by the wife! just have the timing gear and flywheel assy to pull off then split the block/gearbox

also looking at running the minispares crosspin diff, really want her running now feels like so long!

:)

Definaly a x pin diff, I would also definarely go rts, building the engine with the future in mind, as I reckon at least 95% of us on this forum did not set out to achieve big numbers.

Stick with standard drops. The clutch you list will be good for 120bhp ish on an organic plate, and some more with a paddle plate.

A hellical box will be ok for moderate power, but for 150+ you need to start looking at an SC.

use some fine valve lapping paste on the taper of the crank lap the flywheel onto it then re check the condition, sometimes it can look worse than it actually is...

Speeding is like masturbating, everyone does it, but not all of us film it and put it on the internet

up to around 250 bhp , the helical drops have been fine ,
clutchwise , i would say ,

approximately >>>

stock metro turbo clutch good to around 130 lbs/ft torque ,
then same with the ap rally plate good to around 145 lbs/ft ,
then single grey pre verto with ap rally plate good to 180 lbs/ft
then rts with metro plate good to 210 lbs/ft
then rts with ap rally plate good to 240 lbs.ft +

a fair bit depends on have you got the clamping height set right on the cover , do you have a very peaky power delivery ,and did you bed the clutch in properly over a few hundred miles .

on the pre verto clutch ,generally seems to need 1.5mm off the mounting pillars. there a thread on here about that somewhere .

rts wise , the trq capability will vary with which springs you use ,and subsiquently what clamping pressure you have .

for your setup , i would use the stock turbo clutch and the ap rally plate ,then see how it goes .

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

I am hoping my rts will hold up, I am beginning to worry lol its 2x998 springs with ap bonded rally plate, let's be cautious and say 200hp?
