Optimax on all our cars, all the time. Well worth it, the 16v golf we've got pinks like mad on regular unleaded. we've advanced the timing about as much as we can safely to get the best bang |

I tend to put normal unleaded in my road car as it is modern and so the ECU changes the timing itself depending on the signals it gets from the knock sensors and the lambda. However every now and then I do give it a tank of Optimax or Super for a "treat" and it does go noticeably better, as it will tolerate more advance before the knock sensor starts to limit it.
