Hi Chaps
One of my mates has just put a 97 MPI back together after a full rebuild. Everything is good except the fan just wont kick In. It runs continuallyif he disconnects the sensor so we know the fan itself is ok. He has replaced the sensor and the small loom to the switch. but still to no avail. I the car is left idling the clock gets up to the mid point mark and no further but the fan just never starts and he is worried about cooking it. Its a standard 1275 MPI engine he is now at his wits end trying to work out why it wont work, any ideas? Could it be the ECU?

Thanks
Andy

The fan doesnt kick in till the engine reaches 105c, thats pretty much in the red.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Cheers Sprox, managed to sort this today thanks to the above info! I had a thought that if its boiling up then it musnt have been pressurising. So the expansion cap was swapped and its runnning perfect now.

Cheers
Andy
