I'm having a bit of a think about where to put the intercooler for my long-awaited (as in been thinking about it for 6-years) blow-through supercharger setup.
I'm planning a front mounted radiator with an electric water pump, so there ought to be acres of space alongside the engine where the rad normally is.

What advantages/disadvantages are there in side mounting an intercooler where the radiator normally is ?

Have a look at Nic and madmk1s cars. they run this setup and it seems to work well.

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

Lake District

It needs to be really well ducted though to get a decent airflow.

What about under the front valance? That's where I originally planned to put mine, until I mocked it up and found that I had no where to run the boost pipes.. With a holier subframe than mine it wouldn't be too dificult to run the boost pipes?

The wing area works well if ducted really well like Phil says, otherwise there not much good, my side mount rad cools plenty where it is now, would much rather use the space up front for a good intercooler imo.

It's a Clubbie estate, so there is more scope to put something down inside the valance than with a roundnose - but I'm thinking that a side mount would enable me to have better curves on the pipework instead of elbows.
