Just trying to strip the hubs down that came of my car. Both CV nuts are seized solid. I've tried a long bar, fire and the rattle gun (CV's are going on the scrap pile) with no luck. All I've managed to do is pull the disk out of the vice.

My compressor isn't man enough for the rattle gun. Grinder has done the job though.

Drill down two split pin grooves 180 degrees apart and tap with a cold chisel. Way faster and less chance of damaging threads than a big chisel or grinder. For future reference :) Edited by evolotion on 6th Jun, 2012. turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

Take the split pins out dumb arse Get a decent enough windy gun and you can undo the nut with the split pin still there if it takes your fancy.

With a good air feed you'll have anything off with an air gun. It's never failed me yet!
