Just trying to strip the hubs down that came of my car. Both CV nuts are seized solid. I've tried a long bar, fire and the rattle gun (CV's are going on the scrap pile) with no luck. All I've managed to do is pull the disk out of the vice.

Has anybody got any tips for doing getting them of??

My compressor isn't man enough for the rattle gun. Grinder has done the job though.

Everything was seized in, had to use a BFH to get the cv through the wheel bearings, so must have been far too hot at some point...

Cut the nuts in two with the grinder the other day.

Drill down two split pin grooves 180 degrees apart and tap with a cold chisel. Way faster and less chance of damaging threads than a big chisel or grinder. For future reference :)

Get a decent enough windy gun and you can undo the nut with the split pin still there if it takes your fancy.

With a good air feed you'll have anything off with an air gun. It's never failed me yet!
It'll piss easily undo cv nuts on the floor without the disc spinning a full rotation it's that efficient.
