Last weekend there was a car show, Modified Nationals, at Peterborough Showground.

Yokohama got in contact with me to put the mini on their trade stand with the A048's on.

I was parked between a very well styled Golf and a stunning drift spec skyline and the Mini was easily drawing far more attention!

Did you get free tyres for doing that?

I seriously doubt it!

They are going to sort me some well discounted tyres when I come to needing a new set. I was attending the show anyway so it wasn't out of my way or anything.

this seems to be a bit of a grey area and no one really knows for sure.

I have driven it round with one headlight past many a police car and never had a problem. At night I always have both headlights in. Apparently if I get a daytime MOT then its fine, but with a full MOT then its possibly not ok.

After this show I swapped the filter back out and put the light in only to find when stopping to fill up with petrol neither of the headlights were working!

Show was pretty good, I go every year and came back with Best Club Stand again this year which was great. I have to say the show is all about the weekend as a whole though and who you go with, attending just for the day can be a bit dissapointing as you can walk round the whole show in a 3-4hrs (or less), but still there was a lot to see and a great range in tastes.

Did you ask them to make man sized 10" tyres? Or 13" tyres??

Honestly I can't understand why they don't there is surely demand for them. I wouldn't contemplate 13's if they did a 185 or 195 a032.

I didn't ask about 10's primarily because I run 13's so it didn't cross my mind.

However it was interesting to hear that the A048's will no longer be road legal in 2 years time because new laws will rule them out for making too much road noise!

I absolutely despair, give it 10 years and modified cars will be regulated off the road all together.

Well I suppose its a good excuse for if the coppers catch you pulling a massive burnout - sorry officer my decent tyres have been banned and I now have very little grip with these alternatives!

Presumably the smaller sizes could remain, a 175 is gonna make a hell of a lot less noise then a 265?

That cant be true?!? If they are going to ban a tire for making a little bit of noise, what are they going to do to people with straight cut drops, lethal injection?

There are already tyre noise regulations in place but they are being tightened in 2 years time.

Yoko are working on some replacements at least.
