So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Standard mini engine and box is 154kg. Wouldn't imagine there would be much difference.

So you've not actually weighed one?

I have one sat in the corner, I'll have a go at picking it up and standing on the scales with it.

This could go very wrong!

Just realised that I do not have the gearbox attached - Bollocks. so for what its worth the engine weighs about 65kg.

Anyone know the scrap value of the remaining 45kg?

I need shot of it really as I've had the head and anything of use off it.

Sorry I don't, the only reason it was removed from the bike was because the clutch failed and the bloke replaced the whole lot for a lower milage unit.

I bought it as seized, turned out a screw had fallen into the cylinder during storage. A few marks to the piston/head but still perfectly usable. Bargain at £100 as I only wanted a spare casting.

Haha ive just found the listing on ebay.

What sort of size is the flywheel housing? Im just trying to get an idea of the clutch/flywheel size. The clutch plate is the same size as a mini but wondered about the flywheel. *oh well*

Just measured the housing where the flywheel looks like it should sit at at 8.5 inches diameter. Could be miles out though!

Right, I'm fed up with this engine sitting in the way, so gonna weigh it in. Is there anything from the bottom end that could be useful for anything mini related?
