heat rises, therefore the hot coolant comes out of the head and goes into the top of the rad On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

would I be able to join the water return to the inlet manifold then join the other side of the inlet manifold to the heater pipe?

yes, but you don't want to heat your inlet manifold up... On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Whats the point of cooling your turbo if youre just gonna heat the charge in the manifold again?
I seriously doubt it! |

With the air spends in the manifold and its surface area heat transferal will be almost zero i will argue that with a heated manifold the temp rise of the inlet air to be less than 1degree c

Take water FROM the bottom hose that normally goes to the heater. That water is as cold as it gets. Then route it ito the top hose. I'd also reccomend having the head heater output open, and plumbed in the top hose. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

I wouldn't return through the heater into the bottom hose. You will end up with a load of hot water bypassing the radiator. As V says, return into the top hose. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

water comes out of the head, through the heater and into the top of the bottom hose.

I make a new top hose with a branch from a standard bottom hose. Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."

So to get things straight, the water comes out of the bottom hose, goes up into the water pump pushed around the engine and then into the cylinder head then to the heater matrix and returned into the bottom hose, but some of it goes up the top hose and into the radiator?
