Hi Guys

Im going to be in Germany at the end of the month and Id really like to go the Nurburgring.

Ive looked into renting a car and such and it all seems really expensive, my girlfriend's brother( her family stays in Germany) doesnt reckon his car is upto the track abuse, so I was wondering if any of you guys might be planning a trip then and wouldnt mind me riding shotgun on a lap or two. I realise this is a long shot but there's no harm in asking.

i wouldnt bloody go passenger again thats for sure but i'm not a great passenger anyway

i got in with a guy in a 300zx because he was a friend of a friend and i didnt have a car of my own to drive. i weighed up the risks and didnt wanna seem like a girl so jumped in the passenger seat the guy was middle aged well dressed nothing to show that he really lacked anykind of skill behind the wheel. i'm no racing driver but i know the key to speed is being smooth this geezer in his automatic rocket ship (they are fast cars) was far from smooth! again i have been around the ring as many times as you can count on 1 hand but flying up a hill and not knowing whats coming next i would ease off for the crest just incase the bloody obvious happens and you are presented with a corner? this chap keept his boot in exclaiming the brakes go off a bit quick if he uses them too much trying to slow this bus down! we fly over the kerb and upcoming grass and slide back onto the track... all within 1 minute of leaving the car park. i am not best pleased and am holding on to the seat between my legs with what can only be described as white claws by now... the rest of the lap is filled with more mistakes near misses and ignorance m3,s and 911's with german plates should be given a wide bearth the ring is no place for egos. we limp back into the car park with the brakes on fire and automatic transmission fluid dripping from the poor autobox. he then had the balls to ask 'did you enjoy that?' i got out the car and walked away before i said something i'd regret later. he then got harrassed by some bikers for dropping oil and had to go to the office to tell them his car is a piece of shit.

hope this hasnt put you off the ring is an awesome place and i enjoyed just walking around the carpark looking at all the awesome cars that turn up

Use the playstation well in advance to learn the track, takes about a 100 laps.....makes the experience soooo much more enjoyable.

I hired a swift from rent4ring before. It was fabulous!

Hire cars are the quickest cars in the world, especially when track prepared.....

I have rented cars from Ron at RSR 2 times.
The first time was on a "all inclusive tour" with some teutials and a full day with a 75. That was a norma Tourist fahrt day.
The other time me and a friend went down for a weekend and rented a 75 3.0 for a full day on a closed training day. That was great. No bikes, buses and idiots in Imprezas

I recomend you rent the cheepest car you can get your hands on, its enough I know its expensive, but worth it :)
