running my dump valve is it meant to be like this i've got it on a T in the line to the inner cooler near as i can to the carb and that seems ok but my bailys single piston type seems to be half open already when the car ticking over like theres to much presure pulling it open! the return i've got running onto the top of the inlet where someone told me to run it! is there to much presure there or is there a better place??

It should be open on tick over, if you have the twin piston dump valve the main piston will be up at tick over and the second piston (more like a little flap) will stay down which i like because it stops any crap going into the engine. The main piston will move down if the engine is revved, but be carefull of it sticking. I had to get a seal made from viton rubber to cure mine in the end.

i found out for myself and you can't run the boost gauge off the top of the inlet cos theres vacum there best T ing into the the platum chaber

You can run the boost gauge off the inlet manifold. This will of course show vacuum, when there is vacuum. As soon as the engine comes on boost it will show boost, simple. *smiley*

yup, my boost gauge and dump valve trigger are both on the inlet manifold, luckilly it had 2 nipples on it when i got it :)

Can see if your driving with economy too if boost guage shows vacuum. Not that we should worry too much about economy*wink*
