Welcome to the sale of my 1380cc Turbo Mini - one of the finest currently for sale.
It's with great regret that I have to put my Mini up for sale, I have owned it for the last 12 years and it lives in the garage all year round and only ever driven in the rain if I happened to get caught in it.
This isn't your average mini turbo conversion by someone just dropping a metro turbo engine into a mini, this a ground up bare metal full car build with absolutely no expense spared, not just a turbo conversion.
The car, a 1981 Mini LE was purchased in 2000 as rolling wreck, it was stripped back to bare metal and rebuilt to the car it is today with 99% new parts.
I can't even begin to calculate how much has been spent on the car, £12-15,000 would be a rough guess but it could easily be a lot more, not to mention the value of the blood, sweat & tears that have gone into it. The car has an agreed insurance valuation of £8000 so you can see this hasn't been built on the cheap, although it would cost a lost more than £8000 to build a mini to this spec but thats insurance companies for you!
The car is essentially a road legal track car and has been built as such. Having said that its still a looker, it gets polished and waxed and looked after properly and can easily turn heads while stationary as well as moving. The car is absolutly solid, sills are new and not over sills, the underside is all undersealed, there is no rust or rot. The roll cage and harness bar have been fitted on top of 3mm welded steel plates for extra strength, the shell really is as solid as a rock, you wont find any body filler here!
The car is currently running 165bhp at 14psi boost, approx 275bhp/ton. It is due a trip to a rolling road for the second time for its final tune now it has a few more miles on the clock (1800 miles) and the engine will easily reach 180bhp+
This car is not for the faint hearted, it's loud, it's fast, it's a monster to drive! Geared for all out acceleration with a top speed on paper of 112mph, as soon as you get a handle on the torque steer you will be flying everywhere, and yes it does reach 112mph very very easily as was proved while massivly out accelerating a tuned 300bhp Impreza RB5 down the back straight of the Snetterton circuit.
On that note the car has been on 2 x 20min track sessions at Snetterton and the Yokohama Advan A048R still have a good couple of thousand miles left in them.
I have more pictures than you can shake a stick at (on request), almost every stage of the build including each part of the engine build so you can see the parts that have gone into it.
I would recommend collecting the car on a trailer if you are a long way from me but thats personal preference. As I said the car is geared for acceleration with a 3.44 final drive, while I have driven the car on long journeys, even up to 3hrs straight it's not designed as a tourer as you can only really cruise along at 60mph on the motorway. Having said that its more than capable of long distances but I wouldn't recommend it especially if this is your first time driving such a specced car.
I can go on for ages but I will let the spec and the photos do the talking and if you are interested we can talk in further detail. I am bound to have missed bits off the spec below as there is so much to list but if you have any questions please ask.
After you have finished wading through the spec list there are 2 youtube videos of the car at the bottom.
One last note, it averages around 30mpg!
Sensible offers will be considered but cash only, no swaps or part-ex as I already have too many cars.

Full insurance must be provided to drive the car yourself, that doesn't mean driving another car 3rd party only, this is simply not the sort of car to be thrown around by someone inexperienced as there is too much to lose to easily, I'm sure you can understand. I will however more than happily take you out for a drive in it!
