Blackpool

A quick line to introduce myself, and to confess. I don't actually have a Mini!

I do have an Austin Healey Sprite though, so I appreciate that good things come in small packages and there is a 1275 under the bonnet.

MOL is uprated as far as chassis and brakes are concerned, so the powertrain is next. After some research and some soul searching I've decided its a turbo for me. The latest thing for Spridgets is slotting in a K series from an MGF, so 150hp is straightforward, but to me it seems a bit like cheating.
I understand the Metro kit will fit under the bonnet with a little rework of the plenum, so all you'll see is the old beardy duffer in his old shed.

I've got a spare motor for a rebuild once I finalise the spec. I've already got the Ford type 9 box and conversion bits and bobs, so its all systems go. I've done the ebay thing for the turbo gubbins and I've sussed two local experts near Blackpool for when it all goes wrong.
The Search button will be getting hammered and I'll be picking your brains.

It would be churlish to expect something for nothing, so I've also hit the Donate button.

Regards,
Mark

Welcome buddy. There have been maybe half a dozen Spridget turbo conversions on here over the years, and not forgetting Dave's turbo A35, so it is probably well worth you having a dig around using the search function.

Well I am, so welcome to the club.....

RWD projects can be a lot more interesting as they tend to be so much more unique.
