hi still a bit of a newbie ,so here goes ,im going to use my mini for hill climbs mainly and would like to run it on carbs can i use the metro turbo engine using a mg std metro cam ,in the turbo block ,also using the turbo head and crankshaft ,i know il need to change the pistons for std n/a items to increase compression ,il also be running split weber 45s and a straight cut box with salisbury lsd ,any ideas would be appreciated Edited by mercenary62 on 22nd Jun, 2012. give em hell |

if you go to all that trouble engine all you have is an a+engine with a turbo crank.

standard MG Turbo engine is 9.4:1 CR and the pistons are tougher than standard. other than the crank and the valves that's the only difference from a standard engine. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

I think you would need some serious head work to make use of split webbers, and I would have thought a much more aggresive cam, as a start are you aiming for a certain power figure? On 18th Oct, 2013 apbellamy said:

You'd be better off selling the splits & using the money to fund a decent cam & head. |
