how effective would it be on the bulkhead regarding heat to fasten some sheet titanium to it. got some lying about and the exhaust flange is sitting near it so was wondering if it would help.

What are you hoping to achieve?
I seriously doubt it! |

Ti has a much lower heat conductivity to alluminium, more in the region of steel and stainless, (according to the web)

Does it really matter? Heat shields are made from aluminium. Its the air gap that matters. So long as there is an air gap either side, it will act as a heat shield. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

righty. ok im with you. like i said, the exhaust outlet flange is only about 1" from the bulkhead so i was thinking of fixing some titanium sheet to that area on the bulkhead to stop the heat transfer. if i can get a gap between them it will work if i understand correct.

Polish the sheet before you fix it in place. www.topcatcustom.co.uk |
