ot-went to castle combe today

not mini related but as the title says i went to castle combe with my friend today to a show called japfest, it had all those japanese cars scoobys, evos, type r's all that type of stuff

but there was one car that was quicker than every other car there: a toyota starlet turbo

these standard are a 1300cc turbo with about 120bhp, thinking there must be something crazy under the bonnet i rushed across to find out more about it.

the car was missing its interior, just the carpet, dash and std drivers seat, it had some larger wheels and wilwood calipers, i asked what he had done to the engine all that had been done was an exhaust and filter, a chip to handle the boost increase to 1.1bar and a rising rate fuel regulator, and a rs500 intercooler

all in i im sure this car wouldnt of cost more than ?5k, and in 3 laps it had over taken every car out there, it did this in both the wet and the dry!!!

im sure part of its success was down to the driver, but it was a ?5k car eating ?30k+ cars, fantastic!!

oh and it was owned by the guys dad who was 75, and it was automatic!!!!!

yeah i was gonna import one of them from japan they're only about a grand and come with dual boost settings as standard nice looking too.
