Chaps, im just about finishing up the wiring on the blue mini and im having some difficulties with my indicators, the hazards flash no problem, however the indicators just stay solid? IE they dont flash.

I know one of the relays is buggered but ive swapped them over and they stay the same? Or do Both Relays need to be working?

Somewhere around Swindon

change the hazard switch if you have swapped the relays as both circuits got though the switch

there will be two flasher units. one for hazards and one for indicators. sounds like your indicator one is shot or not earthed properly. indicators behind clocks, hazards on the engine bay bulkhead

Chuck the crap bi-sexual flasher unit in the bin. then buy a modern flasher unit. To connect it up is easy, you just need to run an additional earth wire.

Then you'll have reliable consitant-rate indicators. Rather than random flashing dependant on the weather.

Are you using the standard switch?

If not you'll need some extra gubbins.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Yes 3 prong (usually 4x21W iirc).

1) One prong 12V
2) One prong to stalk
3) One to earth

1 and 2 above are what is already wired to the existing shitty bi-sexual flasher

What about hazards?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I just use the standard one it's more consistant in operation than the directional one.

It's not like you ues hazards much anyway.

If theyre on and not flashing it'll be a flasher unit problem. To be honest I've never had a problem with them not working properly, I've only ever had them not working at all the once when the flasher died. So i keep a spare in the car, they don't weigh anything to carry about if it's a daily motor.

When you say relay, you mean flasher unit, right?
