anybody know roughtly how much a 998 a series with remote box complete with everything fitted to it weighs? need to shift one out of the garage in hull and a mate of mine has a modified mobility lifting hoist and has said i could borrow it. just want to make sure its gonna be up to it.

21 stone with out the ancillaries. Or around 150 kg. ......... watch out so you don't get a hurnia...lol

Me and a chap lifted a 1275 between us with no ancilleries not long ago.

I wouldn't recommend it but we didnt have a crane to hand. I'm just saying this so that if you can't use the crane for whatever reason, be careful when lifting it by hand, as it is extremely heavy indeed.

Between two you can carry an engine, a mate and I carried mine around my house into the shed, as long as you can get a good grip it's fine.

used a modified mobility lift loads on mine, worked fine.
done about 6 engine swaps manually though, not too bad with flip fronts or scrapp minis.... aslong as you get the wok side to lift :p

sweet. cheers lads. gonna be lifting it into a transit type van. this is a complete motor, with rad,dynamo, carb, starter ect ect. the full job lot so dont think my body would take the strain. plus my lass will be there and she defo wont help! be far too oily. will give it a go with the mobility lift then. cheers

just make sure thats stable and secured,,

The hoist should be fine or find someone who will double team
