Hey Guys!

Been looking for fan switches to fit an mpi thermostat sandwich plate (m12 x 1.5) and I have finally found one here:

http://www.tridon.com.au/databank/document...2-FCp67-128.pdf

Look for product called TFS193

It turns fan ON at: 105

Off at: 100

Is this too high or should I drill/ tap the housing to take an m14 x 1.5 switch instead and go for something along the lines of:

ON: 95
Off: 88

P.s. I think the spout on the thermostat sandwich plate is 15mm can anyone confirm this please?

Cheers

Hypothetically speaking, where would you stick your nozzle?

I'd say on 95 off 88 is the one to have, wouldn't want an engine running at a higher temp.
I struggled to make my 1275 run at temperature nevermind it hitting 100 degrees.

You don't use a 14mm drill for m14 tap, more like 12.5-13mm.

mine currently comes on @96 off @86 with an 82 deg stat i have tried various temps i think the spi/mpi's fans kick in around 105deg
i also have an override switch and honestly the moment i see the temp gauge whisper over 85 it gets flicked on lol

it will be as ok as the weakest part of the cooling system, i only have the electric fan on mine and it copes rather well considering.

imo on the settup you describe the leccy fan should only come on on a warm day in traffic
if it comes on, on a cold day or whilst your on the move ( 30+) mph you need a better radiator ( all in my opinion)

sealing off the steel fan surround ( and rad mount) so the air has to go through the rad
as well as correctly sealing off the back of the rad so the air has to exit under the passenger wing is about the best thing you can do
